Former Philippine National Police chief Senator Bato Dela Rosa suggested that the transgender women would rather use the men’s restroom than the toilet for females to avoid sexual predators.

On Thursday, Dela Rosa said there is a chance that the sexual predators might take advantage to abuse women inside the restroom if the members of the LGBT community and transgender can use the female restroom.

He even said that allowing the transgender women inside the female restroom could also cause confusion. “May papasok sa CR ng babae na lalaking lalaki magkakagulo, ia-accost siya ng gwardya. Sasabihin niya LGBT ako. Lalaki ang porma ko pero ang orientation ko at puso ko ay babae. May confusion,” he said.

Dela Rosa cited that he doesn’t see any problem if a transgender women use the male restroom “Ano ba namang discomfort sa kanila kung papasok sila sa CR ng lalaki, babastusin sila? binabastos ba sila?” he asked.
